Pharmacogenetics is a science that studies and analyzes the process according to which genes and their
variations affect the transformation of drugs in order to be expelled from the body. If they are not
correctly transformed and expelled, they will produce overdosing and / or underdosing and consequently
adverse effects or lack of efficacy due to accumulation of these drugs.

Transformation or metabolization: They can only be expelled from the body if they are transformed from fat-soluble to water-soluble. This transformation can be deficient mainly due to the genes of Cytochrome 450 and other families of genes that are part of a defense system of the human body that protects us from exposure, accumulation and damage against natural or synthetic chemical substances (medicines).

This happens when some of these genes have mutations and as a consequence their corresponding enzymes metabolize or transform drugs poorly. Depending on the nature of these mutations, the symptoms will be different due to the type to which it corresponds, and depending on the type, they will produce fast, normal, intermediate or slow metabolization or transformation, resulting in different effects, but all with a common origin.
